Day 3: Loire Valley historic wine and Renaissance Chateaux.

Visit of the Chateau de Chenonceau. The unique architecture of the Chateau makes it one of the most exquisite Chateau of the Loire Valley. Chenonceau is related to important French Renaissance women and was offered by King Henry 2nd to his mistress Diane de Poitiers.

Transfer to Royal City of Blois.
Lunch is at your leisure.

Free time and shopping in Blois.
This ancient city with a rich historical part merits to be visited. In the XVIth century Blois was the capital of France, under the king Louis XII.
You can stroll through the old town, along its paved side streets. Or admire the famous Chateau of Blois combining three different architecture styles.

Later in the afternoon, visit and wine tasting in Cour Cheverny, Domain Desoucheries "Christian Tessier".
Mister Tessier wins awards every year for the quality of his wines.
The Cour Cheverny wines exist today because of King Francois 1st.
On his way back from Italy, Francois 1st stopped in Burgundy.

He brought back 80 000 vines of Romorantin. Nowadays the Cour Cheverny is the only appellation in the world using Romorantin grape.

Dinner and night in the same 4* Chateau hotel.

 

Day 4: Cognac & Bordeaux..

We take the direction of Bordeaux.


Lunch is at your convenience in Cognac.



Early afternoon, we visit the cellars of a Cognac maker. After a visit of the property, you get a tasting of Grands Crus de Cognac with your tour leader (Pascal Mineau) and Mr. Claude Thorin, the Cognac maker.



Due to its fantastic Cognacs, Claude increased the size of his vineyard by six in ten years. You will taste 5 different Cognac.


Check-in at 4* L hotel Prestige rooms and SPA. Dinner at hotel. Gourmet dinner possible with a supplement.
