| 10 - Medici Villas and Wine |
The Medici family built
fine churches and monumental villas on the hills from the
Arno river to Carmignano. Grand Duke Cosimo III de'Medici
declared the area one of the four most important viticultural
regions in Tuscany. This excursion includes numerous wineries,
some famous for their rosé wines, and the "Villa of the
Hundred Chimneys" at Artimino and the church of San Michele
at Carmignano.

- 9:00 Departure from Florence or your location
- 10:30 Guided visit of the Annunciazione by Pontormo
in Carmignano
- 11:30 Visit to the winery Ambra and wine tasting
- 13:00 Lunch at restaurant La Torre in Carmignano
- 15:30 Visit to the medieval village of Capezzana with
the monumental cellar of Contini Bonacossi and the ancient
oil mill

| 11 - Sassicaia and the Coastal Wines |
SASSICAIA is a magical word
around the world, synonymous with the highest quality wine.
This excursion takes you to the winery where Marchese Mario
Incisa della Rocchetta started it all, and where Sassicaia
is produced today. You'll enjoy tasting wine and oils from
the Montescudaio area.

- 10:00 Arrival in Montescudaio and short visit of the village
- 11:30 Guided visit of the winery Poggio Gagliardo with
wine tasting and lunch
- 14:30 Visit of the town of Bolgheri
- 15:30 Guided visit to the Marchese's winery (Thursdays
only) or another winery of the same level
- 17:00 Guided visit and oil tasting at Frantoio di Foiano
